WELCOME TO STANTON!
Stanton County is located in northeast Nebraska, and is comprised
of 431 square miles. The city of Stanton is the county seat
of Stanton county, and Pilger, eight miles east of Stanton
are the only communities in the county. Stanton is 12 miles
southeast of Norfolk; 83 miles southwest of Sioux City, Iowa;
113 miles northwest of Omaha; and 129 miles north of Lincoln,
Nebraska's state capitol.
The

community located 12 miles southeast of Norfolk along Nebraska
Highway 24. Stanton has a community base of 1,627 residents.
Stanton
offers several attractions for visitors to enjoy. Within
Stanton's city limits, there are four city parks (link

) which
all operations are carried out by volunteers, who are dedicated
to preserving the history and heritage of Stanton County,
Nebraska. Just a block from main street Stanton is where
the Stanton
Public Library (link to library website) is located. Our
library not only includes a wide selection of books but also
has a
computer library for the public to use.
Maskenthine
Lake (link to website) is a state recreation area located
just
two miles north of Stanton, NE. Visitors
to the
recreation area can enjoy the arboretum, picnic shelters,
biking areas, swimming beach and year round fishing.
The
Elkhorn Acres Golf course (link to website) is a City owned
course that is located 1 mile south east of Stanton
on golf
course road. This beautiful 9 hole course which was constructed
in 1973-77 is settled up against the Elkhorn River. The
view is spectacular and the play is always enjoyable.
Stanton has a number of amenities including a weekly
newspaper, gas stations, two banks with ATMs, grocery
store, hardware
store, lumber store, two restaurants, gift shops along
with two schools including a High School with 2 gyms,
a middle
